New Year

It's a New Year, and with that come resolutions. I'm thinking that I'd like to be more conscious. I'd like to just be aware more often. To notice things. Yeah, I'd like that.
I spend too much time worrying and planning for what I think is happening. Not what actually happens/ed.
So rather than worry about weight or health or finances, I'm just going to try to notice stuff.

Headed down South...

We're going home. Well, I am.And I'm probably not going to take the greenest route either...
Another four hour car ride and we'll be done traveling until next monday. I wish it were spring and all the world was green, but I'm so glad it's Christmas time!! Yay!

Flying to VA

We're leaving tomorrow and the only thing I've assembled are the presents we're taking with us. So tonight I have to deal with the challenge of trying to fit everything we need + Christmas into two carry on bags. Well, technically four. But I don't want to check bags, because it's too expensive, and its easier to not lose stuff if I'm responsible for it. Right? right. So the challenge: What can I live without for 10 days?

The Tech Trends

I'm convincing myself today that I don't want an iPod Touch with a camera or an iPad. I keep seeing them everywhere in giveaways, on sale in shop windows, and in the hands of coworkers. That last one might be the hardest. They're so shiny! I happen to love Apple products for their design. I know next to nothing about the inner workings, but I know that the outer workings "make my skirt fly up" as Pioneer Woman would say.
But today I'm reminding myself that the things (phone and iPod Touch and desktop) I already have still work. I don't need more. I might still want more... but it can wait. I can wait.

Also: I'm loving this look for decorations. Simple is a good goal.

Being Greener

Over the last six months I've been working on making my lifestyle fit my budget. I'm getting rid of things I don't need. Cleaning out my closet. Eating healthier and spending less. I'm no Eco friendly vegan granola hippie by any stretch. I love myBig Macs and Texas Cheese Fries. I love hulu, Netflix, and most things tech. I love new clothes and shoes. I'm just trying to be smarter and a little greener about the way I'm consuming.
Hopefully this new blog will both document and encourage our progress on our way to being Greener Consumers.
